For those looking for a blank canvas venue in central London, Magdalen Hall Association & Community Bar offers a practical space that works well for a wide variety of events. Located just a short walk from Tower Bridge, the hall sits in the heart of vibrant Bermondsey and provides an accessible setting for gatherings of all kinds, from birthday parties and weddings to community events, rehearsals and creative projects.

Main Hall

The Main Hall at Magdalen Hall Association & Community Bar is a versatile and spacious venue perfect for a wide range of events. Located a stone's throw away from Tower Bridge, this hall offers a stage, making it ideal for parties, functions, classes, and theatre productions. The Main Hall can accommodate up to 120 guests (standing), ensuring ample space for parties, workshops, rehearsal spaces, audition spaces, and productions.
Facilities include a kitchen with essential appliances, a private bar, a sound system, disco lights, a DJ booth & free WiFi.
There are fourteen 6ft retangular foldable tables, six round tables and eighty chairs available, the hall is well-equipped for various setups.
We use Alto audio systems with: -
2x Alto Professional TX310 - 350W Active PA Speaker with 10 Inch Woofer
2x Alto Professional TS415 - 2500W 15" Active PA Speaker
1x Alto TrueMix 800FX Audio Mixer with 4 XLR Mic Ins, USB Audio Interface and Bluetooth
2x wireless microphones
The Main hall's rental rates are competitively priced, with discounts for members, and it requires a £250.00 deposit. Whether you're planning a birthday party, a community event, or a theatre production, The Main Hall offers a welcoming and accommodating space.

£39.75 per hour - Friday to Sunday
£32.00 per hour - Monday to Thursday
£26.00 per hour - Members
There is a £250.00 deposit required, plus terms and conditions.

It comes manned with two people to serve your needs and provide on site support.

£19.00 per hour - Security Hire
Security is required for all 13-24 year old birthday parties.
We have a range of packages based on four hour rentals.

- Silver Party - Main Hall Rental, Bar, 360 Booth, 10 Table Cloths & 80 Chair Covers (£475.00)
- Gold Party - All of Silver, plus Selfie Station & LED Booth (£600.00)
Parties for 13-24 year olds which have the bar require two security guards to be present. You will be required to pay half the cost at £19.00 per hour.
All patrons over 18 are required to bring ID (passport, driving licence or Citizen Card) to sign into our building when alcohol is in use.
Public events while welcome will be assessed to see if security will be needed or not for the safety of staff, assets and patrons.

Secondary Hall

Our Secondary Hall is a great space for small meetings or small classes of up to 40 people. It features a 60" TV, with HDMI connections for presentations and 34 chairs. The space is private.

Current and previous usage have been church groups, organisational meetings, seminars, classes, dance classes and extending the use of the Main Hall for a capacity of 150 people.

This space is not suitable for parties on it’s own.

It has a 58" TV that can be connected via a HDMI cable. Perfect for small meetings, presentations, rehearsals and gatherings.
