Who Are We?
Magdalen Hall Association C.I.C is a Tenants and Residents Association set up as a community interest company that is run by a board of tenants and residents from across the estates of St. Saviours, Purbrook & Aylwin (over 716 homes). We are formally recognised by Southwark Council. We are governed by our Articles of Association and elections are held yearly at our Annual General Meeting on the last Thursday of July.
We manage and run the beautiful Magdalen Hall, located a stone throw away from Tower Bridge, with London Bridge, a major transportation hub nearby. It has a spacious hall for rent with a stage for parties, functions, classes and theatre productions; supplemented by two bars at modest prices and discounts for members / owners (tenants and residents of the estates). All are welcome to join us at this wonderful venue. We take pride in our community and promote diversity, tolerance and equality.
Our association has been around since the 1960's, providing support and recreation for the residents of Saint Saviours Estate for over 60 years. We recently incorporated in 2024, to bring a new chapter to our history and to take our association to the next level.
Doing business with us means you can be sure that your money is being used to benefit the local community.
Magdalen Hall is a licenced premises (880526).
Our Vision: -
To represent the tenants and residents of the estates (members) to Southwark Council by promoting their rights enshrined by law.
To improve the living conditions and standards for all our members.
To encourage and improve the community spirit by providing a space for recreation and events.
To promote the harmonious functioning of our diverse community; working towards the elimination of all forms of racism and discrimination within it.
We do this by: -
Being Transparent
Being Trustworthy
Collaborating
Taking Personal Responsibility
and Building Relationships
These values underpin every decision we make.
Meet the Leadership
The Board
Our Board holds a General Meeting on the last Thursday of every month. The meeting is attended by stakeholders such as Southwark Council Officers, police and the Anti-social Behaviour Unit.
Our meetings are an open floor to raise concerns and issues about the estates and give intelligence to the relevant stakeholders, so they are able to tackle the social issues at hand.
We have an Annual General Meeting once a year on the last Thursday of July, where elections take place.
Concerns can also be raised by contacting contact@magdalenhall.community. We will forward your concerns or feedback to Southwark Council for action.
