About Us
Welcome! Magdalen Hall Association C.I.C is a Tenants and Residents Association set up as a community interest company that is run by a board of tenants and residents from across the estates of St. Saviours, Purbrook & Aylwin (over 740 homes). We are formally recognised by Southwark Council. We are governed by our Articles of Association and elections are held yearly at our Annual General Meeting on the last Thursday of July.
We manage and run the beautiful Magdalen Hall, located a stone throw away from Tower Bridge, with London Bridge, a major transportation hub nearby. It has a spacious hall for rent with a stage for parties, functions, classes and theatre productions; supplemented by two bars at modest prices and discounts for members / owners (tenants and residents of the estates). All are welcome to join us at this wonderful venue. We take pride in our community and promote diversity, tolerance and equality.
Our association has been around since the 1960's, providing support and recreation for the residents of Saint Saviours Estate for over 60 years. We recently incorporated in 2024, to bring a new chapter to our history and to take our association to the next level. You can learn more about our history HERE. Main Hall at Magdalen Hall Association & Community Bar is a versatile and spacious venue perfect for a wide range of events. Located a stone's throw away from Tower Bridge, this hall offers a stage, making it ideal for parties, functions, classes, and theatre productions.
The hall can accommodate up to 120 guests, ensuring ample space for workshops, rehearsal spaces, audition spaces, and productions. Facilities include a kitchen with essential appliances, a private bar, a sound system, disco lights, a DJ booth, free WiFi, and live sports broadcasting. With fourteen 6ft foldable tables and eighty chairs available, the hall is well-equipped for various setups.
The hall's rental rates are competitively priced, with discounts for members, and it requires a £250.00 deposit. Extras like private bar hire, BBQ hire, and chair cover hire are available to enhance your event. Whether you're planning a birthday party, a community event, or a theatre production, Main Hall offers a welcoming and accommodating space.
The Secondary Hall capacity is 40 and is good for small meetings, training, rehearsals and presentations.
